The word has gotten out that there’s another person who lives with you. Everyone has heard of his or her “inner child.” I once saw a comic strip where a child was teaching his inner child to tie his shoelaces. Still, only a small number of people take the time to connect with that child because, I feel, they really don’t know how and are too afraid to ask. Most of us are so busy surviving that we have completely neglected that child who wants to play. It’s time to reconnect. Apprehensive would be a mild term to describe how I felt about encountering the child I’d abandoned long ago. Actually, petrified is probably more correct. What would “Little Millie” look like after all this time? Where would I find her? For me to become complete, I knew the connection was a must ...
