Before you can take strides to “care for your soul,” it is important you have a clear understanding of what your soul is, and your relationship to it.

YOUR SOUL IS THE VERY ESSENCE OF WHO YOU ARE, it is your life and feelings. As Thomas Moore stated in his book, CARE OF THE SOUL, A Guide for Cultivating Depth and Sacredness in Everyday Life, “the soul is a mediating factor between the outside world and the mysterious and infinite depths inside us.” It is that part of you that can never be found in the physical body, and still it knows to leave the body when the body dies. The soul never dies. You can’t see it, but you can feel it. It guides you and gives you free will, both at the same time.

Experiencing “soul” is definitely NOT an intellectual activity. It’s what happens when you “take your head off, tuck it under your arm, and Feel the Feelings.” Soul has to do with genuineness and depth ...
