The search is on to find “enlightenment.” People scurry to meetings, workshops, read books, get messages from palm readers, psychics and mystics to find the road to bliss. I know: I’ve taken almost every road available. In the final analysis, there was one observation I made—EVERY road came right back to me. There is a saying, “Wherever I go, there I am!” Running to someone else or making a geographic change to solve our problems never works. It might help to get a fresh start at working on you, but you can’t escape the person who ran. Whatever the problem, it’s always within us. The world doesn’t care about it, and neither does anyone else. Why would we want them to care—it’s not their problem, it’s ours. It really isn’t true that misery loves company, at least for me.
